Mount Esja

View to mountain range Esja from Reykjavík. Esja is not a single mountain, but a volcanic mountain range, made from basalt and tuff. You can see a slice of Videy Island on the right. The island has archaeological remains dating back to the early 10th century and was the site where the "father of Reykjavík", Skuli Magnusson, constructed his home and a church in the 12th century. Mix of visible light and infrared photography.
